Good morning folks,
Rain, rain, go away… let our campers come out to play! What a dismal summer so far. The good news is, nicer weather is on the way. The forecast is calling for Saturday and Sunday to be sunny and in the mid 70s. Only a slight chance of rain late in the day. We’ll take it!
We built our Rec Hall in the nick of time. With the weather we’ve had this summer, it’s really a blessing to be undercover in such a beautiful building. Every weekend our Rec Hall is the hub of entertainment. This weekend, returning to our stage, is VickiLee. She’s been here every season since we’ve opened singing outdoors in the pool / patio area. She’ll really be surprised when she sees our new Rec Hall. We are really excited to welcome her back again this season. She will be entertaining us from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Our Wine Tasting Social was a big hit. We had over 60 people in attendance. There were 32 bottles of wine to sample. And the food! You folks did a great job in matching the wine to bring out the flavor of the foods you brought. After my fourth wine sample, all the food I tried went with any of the wine samples. I guess my palate is less discriminatory than most. I just love food and drink! As a little note of interest, one of our seasonal campers, Linda Tibbetts, was chosen to have the best food and then, after all the votes were in, she also had the top rated wine! Nice job! The results are in: Your three favorite whites are: 1) Smoking Loon Chardonnay, 2) Riesling 2006 and 3) Fish Eye Pinot Grigio. Your three favorite reds are: 1) Gallo Family White Zinfandel, 2) Lindemann’s Bin 50 Shiraz 2006 and 3) Yellow Tail Shiraz. I don’t know what a white Zin was doing in with the reds but it took first place! Oh well.
Next Week: 2nd Annual Hawaiian Luau - Don't miss it. Please call to join in the fun. Watch for next week's Newsletter (by Wednesday) to see what to bring like food, grass skirts, Tiki Huts, decorations, etc. On the Menu: Pork Loin BBQ - Deep Fried Turkey
PLEASE GO SLOW - This is a campground with little kids running around. 5 mph MAX - Think About It
Itinerary:
Friday:
6:30 p.m.: Movie Night at the Store
Saturday:
10 a.m. sharp – Arts and Crafts for kids of all ages. Parents welcome to help the kids out. Please be prompt so everyone starts at the same time.
12:30 p.m. – Pizza Break at the Store - Stop in for a slice of pizza to sample Bob’s specialty.
4 p.m. Wet Hay Ride – weather permitting. This is not your ordinary hayride! Bring your squirt guns and water blasters. We have buckets of water on the trailer. We ask that the parents, or anyone for that matter, come out and be targets for the kids. What’s even more fun is when the parents take the hose off their camper and soak down the kids as we drive by! The kids love it. Isn’t that what it’s all about?
6:30 p.m. Bingo in the Rec Hall
7:30 p.m. VickiLee will entertain us for the evening. Come to listen, come to dance, just come and enjoy yourself.
Please see our list of Activities for the season by clicking the Activities tab on the Home Page. Thanks, Please enjoy your stay!

Video Arcade…
The Arcade is up and running. We believe it has been well received by our resident kids and adults alike. We now have a bumper pool table thanks to Bill and Elaine Labelle and a comfy couch thanks to Dennis and Debbie Emerson. We will keep adding new games as time and funds will allow.
The Fitness Room…
Welcome to our Fitness Room. We have quite a few pieces of exercise equipment all donated by our campers. Steve Arel was so excited that he brought his equipment last fall, before the building was built! (I think he was cleaning out his basement.) Thanks Steve and Norm Daigle and all of you that have donated to the cause.
Recycling...
We recycle cardboard, white plastic, returnable bottles and cans. Last year, the proceeds supported the Lakes Region High School Project Graduation and the Naples Food Pantry. Recycling is a great way to be environmentally responsible and help out the community as well. Everybody wins! We accept household trash only. Please take home all other materials and recycle or dispose of properly. Thank you.
Bob's Kitchen...
We have printed menus at the Office of all the great food from our Kitchen.
Also, please order your homemade breads before 11 am to be ready after 4 pm for dinner. It'll be the talk of the table.
Bob makes all bread and pizza dough from scratch. Some things can't be rushed!
Daily Newspapers...
Daily newspapers are available at the Office every morning. We normally deliver the Saturday and Sunday papers to you at each site. We have had quite a few folks state that they barely read the paper while on vacation. Evidence is the papers that blow around the campground and the ones that turn up in the recycle bin unused.
In an effort to cut cost without cutting services, we will be leaving the Saturday and Sunday papers at each Bath House and the Rec Hall as well as the Office. Please help yourself as this is a FREE paper we provide to you for your enjoyment. If you are a seasonal camper and would like the paper delivered to your site, please sign up at the Office and we'll be glad to get one to you on a regular basis.
If there's anything we can do to make your stay more enjoyable, please let us know.
Have a GREAT stay!
Your host,
Pam & Con Crepeau
