Good Morning folks,
Wow! What a great weekend! The weather was absolutely perfect. "Thank You" to all of you that shared your vacation time with us. The good news is; we get to do it all over again! That’s the major benefit of being a seasonal camper. Every weekend is an adventure, something different all the time.
Thank you to VickiLee for a wonderful time Saturday night. She is a lot of fun and very talented. And, the kids love her. We are looking forward to her coming again.
This is another big weekend! It’s our second annual Hawaiian Luau. It’s a Hawaiian potluck. Your only cost is the dish you bring.
We cook three pork loins outside on the barbecue rotisserie and three 20-pound turkeys. You bring all the fixings. The theory is, if you are coming to the potluck dinner with a total of two people, you bring enough food for two people. In other words, you don’t have to bring enough food to feed everyone. Over time, we found this to be the best value for our customers where everyone can participate. It’s a lot of fun and the food is great. We’ve tried selling tickets at six or seven dollars per person and having it catered. It’s still a good value but it’s a lot of money for a family of four. This way, everyone can participate.
The following are suggestions or ideas as to what you can bring:
Desserts - Veggie Platter - Fruit Platter - Watermelon - Crackers and Cheese - Casseroles - Pasta - Punch - Baked Beans - Corn on the Cob Salads - Jambalaya - Seafood
Feel free to be creative - we love trying new things!
If anyone would like to bring a turkey, please see Conrad so we can get it thawed and ready to cook on time.
