  Hi folks,

Welcome to another edition of our newsletter.  It doesn’t seem possible that another week has come and gone.  From what I gather, the weather will be a little cool but sunny – no rain.  We’ll take it!

Welcome to all the folks from Charity Treks. These folks bike ride cross country to raise money for research for an AIDS vaccine. To date - this trek - they have raised over $100,000 US. They started out from Montreal, Canada and have gone 460 miles to get here! They are 125 people strong. Our hats off to all of you.

Pam and I got a break this week.  Unfortunately, not together.  Pam went kayaking and four wheeling up north with her sisters and a couple of friends.  I had the privilege of trying out Dicky Grammer’s new bass boat.  That thing screams across the water!  Thank you Dick.  I had a great day of fishing with you.  That little 6-pound largemouth bass you caught wasn’t too shabby either!  Congrats.  Any day on the water is a good day.

Propane:

Our propane fill station is up and running.  We are licensed and ready to go.  The reason we chose to offer a propane filling station is to save you money.  Currently, we have a swap program with Blue Rhino.  I was shocked to find out that all swap tanks only have 17 pounds of propane in a 20-pound tank.  That’s 15% less gas than what you bargained for. With us, you get a full tank, 20 pounds for less money than a swap tank by cutting out the middle-man.  We also fill the 30 pounders.  Your cost is $16.50 for the 20-pound tank and $22.50 for the 30-pound tank.  Please bring your tanks to the Store to be filled.  Another value added service from your friends at Naples Campground.

Horseshoe Tournament:

Dave St. Clair will be putting on a horseshoe tournament this Saturday at Playground #2 at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.  If interested, please sign up at the Office to give us an idea of how many players we will have.  Teams will be drawn at 1:30 p.m.

Seasonal sites:

Historically, seasonal contracts are handed out Labor Day weekend.  I don’t know what’s happening but we have had so many folks looking for seasonal sites. I think the price of gas and the cost of traveling is taking it's toll on allot of folks. Or, folks have finally figured out that Naples Maine is just a GREAT place to be!  I predict we will have met our five-year plan in our third season.  Unbelievable! Thanks for your love and support.

We want you all to return next season as Seasonal Campers.  We also know life throws curve balls.  If you know or if you are thinking of not returning next season, please let us know as soon as possible.  We will keep it confidential.  It would just help us in knowing how many new seasonal campers we can take on.  Thank you so much.

 The Pool:

Our pool is crystal clear and 83°.  Even with the heavy usage in the past couple weeks, Waine has done an exceptional job in keeping it crystal clear.  We added a second filter this spring.  I am really pleased with the results.  Please keep in mind our Pool Rules.  Last weekend we had a situation with swim diapers and glass bottles.  Please remember, all children two years and younger must wear swim diapers.  No dogs in the pool area.  No exceptions on either of these.  These are health issues.  Also, we allow food and drinks in the patio area.  Absolutely no food or beverage in the pool and NO GLASS ANYTHING in the Pool or Patio area.    For a more complete list, please review our Pool Rules on our website or at the Office.

Firewood:

We have the best deal on seasoned firewood.  By eliminating payroll to bundle the wood we are passing on the savings to you.  You can pick up a handful of firewood for three dollars at the side of the road on your way to camp.  That’s the going rate.  The stores charge more. Here, you get 2 square feet for only $5.  A 2x4 will last you all night for only $10. Camping is complete with a campfire. Enjoy! We also have half cords delivered to your site for only $100.  Our wood is seasoned and consists of 60% hardwood and 40% softwood, perfect for campfires without the sparks!  See us at the Office and get yours today.

Karaoke:

We are looking for someone, preferably one of our seasonal campers, that would like to take over our karaoke equipment and entertain our folks on occasion.  It would be easier if that person would be camping here.  Times like last weekend and this weekend, we have no entertainment booked; it would be nice to offer entertainment at the last minute.  If interested, please see Con or Pam at the Office.  We can discuss the details then.

Birthdays and Anniversaries:

Happy belated birthday to Brenda Lacroix.  Found out too late for last week’s newsletter.

Hope it was great.

Kevin Lyons is celebrating a birthday this week. Wouldn’t tell me how old!

Not only is it his birthday, Kevin and his wife Linda are celebrating their 10th Anniversary on the 16th! Congrats and best wishes to a wonderful couple.

We have a very special birthday this Saturday, my Mom, Lucille Crepeau. Notice I didn’t say how many years. I know my boundries. Happy Birthday Mom, we love you!

 Itinerary:

 Friday:

6:30 p.m. Sing-Along in the Rec Hall with Jeannine - Drop your kids off while you set up or cook a late supper. Pick them back up at 7:30 to enjoy the rest of the evening.

Saturday:

10 a.m. Arts and Crafts, parents welcome to assist your children or maybe even lend Jeannine a hand.  Please be prompt so everyone starts at the same time.  Thanks.

11 a.m. Kid’s Candy Bar Bingo –Bring a candy bar to get in and maybe win a bunch to take home.

1:30 p.m. Treasure Hunt – Teams will be set up where you can enlist the help of family members.  Items have been hidden throughout the campground.  You will have a list of clues to find your treasure.  It’s a ton of fun!  Get the whole family involved.

1:30 p.m.  Horseshoe Tournament at Playground #2  Please sign up at the Office ahead of time so we know how many teams to set up for.  See Dave StClair for a fun time.

4 p.m. Wet Hay Ride – weather permitting.  If it’s too cold, we’ll do a hayride without the water.  This is not your ordinary hayride!  Bring your squirt guns and water blasters.  We have buckets of water on the trailer.  We ask the parents, or anyone for that matter, to come out and be targets for the kids.  What’s even more fun is when the parents take the hose off their camper and soak down the kids as we drive by!  The kids love it.  Isn’t that what it’s all about?

6:30 p.m. Adult Bingo at the Rec Hall  –  our bingo's have had really decent attendance.  It’s a lot more fun the more people you have.  Please see Jim and Linda at the Rec Hall.

8 to 10:30  Music, Card Games, Left-Right-Center, in the Rec Hall. Perfect place to gather, have fun and make new friends

Jacket order:   The nights are getting cooler.  Have you seen our new jackets?  Pam is putting in another order the beginning of next week.  We have a couple jackets at the Office.  I think you’ll be impressed with the quality at such a fair price.  Besides, if you are bashful, our Naples Campground embroidered logo on your jacket will help you strike up a conversation with numerous people.  No one seems to know about Naples Maine.  They all think it is Naples Florida.  Tell them all about Naples Campground.  There, that cures you bashfulness!

Pets:   Pet owners, please review our pet policy.  In a nutshell, keep your dogs with you on a leash, quiet and picked up after.  NO PETS ON THE PLAYGROUND.  Little kids walk barefooted on the grass.  Dog walks are at both ends of the entrances.  Feel free to let them exercise there.

Quiet Time is at 11 p.m.    All kids must be back on their sites by 10:30 p.m. unless accompanied by a parent.  No noise or music after 11 p.m.  No exceptions. All TV's, radios and games must be turned down at 10:30 and off by 11.  Feel free to enjoy a campfire and friends pass 11 but it MUST be quiet.  We are quite liberal and want you to have fun – but not at the expense of someone else.  Thanks for your consideration.

Toilet Tissue:    Scott Paper is running a promotion on environmentally friendly and septic system friendly toilet tissue for your camper or RV.   We are handing out FREE rolls of Scott toilet tissue at the Office.  Another value added service for our customers.

Newspapers:   As always, we have newspapers at the Office every day.  On weekends, you can also pick up your paper at the bathhouses and Rec Hall for your convenience.  If you would like it delivered in the morning, please sign up at the Office.

We thank you for joining our family and sharing your vacation time with us.  If there is anything that we could do to make your time here more enjoyable, please advise.  We are always looking for new ideas.

Happy Trails,

Your hosts,

Pam and Con Crepeau
