Happy Anniversary to Pat and Jim Grant for 26 years of wedded bliss. Congratulations!
Cheering Champs:
We had a few special guests this weekend. Members of the All Star Cheering Squad: Miranda and Jennifer Smith, Riley Sullivan and Alicia Lambert. They won States, Nationals and competed in the World competition. If you’ve ever seen cheering, you know these girls work hard. Great athletes! Congratulations on your achievements.
Newspapers:
We have daily newspapers at the Office for your enjoyment. Saturdays and Sundays, we also put them at the bathhouses by the sink area for your convenience. We always have some at the Office. Enjoy!
Meter bills:
To all our monthly and seasonal campers: Your meter bill for this month is at the Office. Please pick it up.
Babysitters:
We’ve had folks asking if anyone is interested in watching their children while the parents participate in activities. We’ve talked to a few teens that would be happy to spend a couple of hours entertaining children. We started a list at the Office of young teens and when they would be available. If anyone is interested in watching children or if you could use their services, please sign up at the Office. PS: you don’t have to be a teenager to sign up, older folks can too!
Pets:
We are a “pet friendly” campground. With owning a pet comes responsibility. When walking your dog please make sure you have a bag with you to pick up after them. Folks who do not adhere to this will be asked to leave. If your children are walking the dog, please make sure they are strong enough to hold the dog back. Dogs get excited when seeing other dogs and tend to run off to greet them. It’s a good idea to make temporary ID tags listing the campground’s address and your cell phone number… just in case they roam from “home”. Our number is 207-693-5267. Also, dogs are not allowed in the Rec Hall, Bathrooms or Pool Area. Our dog walk area is our second entrance, Loons Drive. Feel free to run your dog just please watch for traffic. When you come back into the campground your dog must be on his leash and the leash in your hand. These are called rules but in reality it’s common courtesy. Thanks for your cooperation.
Pool area:
Great news! Our lounge chairs are in. For your enjoyment, we have added 20 new lounge chairs. More tables and umbrellas are on the way. The kids are doing a great job at not diving in the pool. To all our weekend guests, please remember there is no diving. Also, state law prohibits any smoking in a public place where kids are, especially the pool area.
This Week's Itinerary:
Friday:
7:00 pm Movie Night – Scooby-Doo Safari - we provide the popcorn
Saturday:
10 a.m.: Arts and Crafts in the Rec Hall –Parents are welcome to assist their children, especially those that are five years and under. Please be prompt so everyone starts at the same time and gets to hear the instructions.
11 a.m.: Kid’s Candy Bar Bingo - Bring a candy bar as your entry fee, play bingo for a chance to win a whole bunch of candy bars. Adults are encouraged to sit with their kids. Especially the young ones. It’s a great way for children to learn number recognition while having fun too!
1 p.m.: Ice Cream Social - at the Rec Hall. Take a break from the sun and join us for an ice cream break.
2 p.m.: Treasure Hunt - see Jeannine at the Rec Hall for instructions. We will pick teams and hand out clues to find your treasures. Get the family involved, it’s tons of fun.
8 p.m.: Wine Tasting Social - at the Rec Hall
Parents, if you need someone to watch your children while you participate in the Wine Social, please sign up at the Office. We have a list of young adults that would love to give you a break.
Wine Tasting: This is our second wine social. Please bring a bottle of your favorite wine. We ask that you do a little research to see what compliments your wine. Does it go with cheese and crackers or smoked seafood. Or better yet, fruit or chocolate! We have info at the office or you can check it out online. Wrap your bottle in foil so no one sees what it is. We will mark your bottle with a number and whether it’s white or red. We will provide you with a ballot so you can keep track of your top three selections. Use the side dish as a clue to what the wine may be. We will see who in the group is the real connoisseur (short for wino). We have quite a few wineglasses although we expect a big turnout. If you would like to bring your own glass, that would be great. See you there!
