Hi Folks,

Welcome to another edition of our Newsletter and welcome to Naples Campground.

For those of you that were here last weekend, thank you for a fantastic time.  Our Luau went over really big!  We cooked 100 pounds of pork loins and turkey - and ran out at the very end!  Fantastic!

This weekend is our New England Boiled Dinner.  Historically, this has been our largest turnout for our potluck socials.  I think we will have to pick it up a notch to beat last weekend's Luau.

First of all, I’d like to welcome the Messalonskee Eagles - 11 Year Olds – Cal Ripken State Champs from Oakland, Belgrade and Sydney area!  The team is in town this weekend to compete in Regional Playoffs in Harrison at the Field of Dreams.  Congratulations on your State title – take it all the way!

We have another ambitious schedule for this weekend’s activities:

Friday:

Welcome to all. The Kitchen is open with all kinds of goodies. Pick up a Menu.

6:30 to 7:30  -  Music in the Rec Hall with Jeannine  Ages 3 to 8   Sing-Along and dance.  Parents can leave your children with Jeannine, pick them up at 7:30.

The Pool is open until 10:30 – children must be accompanied by a parent.

Saturday:

10 a.m.  Arts and Crafts in the Rec Hall  -  Please be prompt  so everyone starts at the same time.  Parents welcome and encouraged to assist your children.

1:30 p.m.   Kids Tournament at playground #1  Join the fun with Balloon Toss, Three-Legged Race, Sack Race, Obstacle Course and Pie Eating Contest.  Prizes awarded.

4:00 p.m. 1174159949_Campground-126.jpg - Wet Hay Ride – weather permitting.   This is not your ordinary hayride!  Bring your squirt guns and water blasters.  We have buckets of water on the trailer.  We ask that the parents, or anyone for that matter, come out and be targets for the kids.  What’s even more fun is when the parents take the hose off their camper and soak down the kids as we drive by!  The kids love it.  Isn’t that what it’s all about?

5:30 p.m.  New England Boiled Dinner Pot Luck Social  -  Our Pot Luck Socials are designed to offer the opportunity for ALL campers to get together and share a meal, a drink and many laughs at an affordable price.  The theory is, if you are coming to the potluck dinner with a total of two people, you bring enough food for two people.  In other words, you don’t have to bring enough food to feed everyone.  Over time, we found this to be the best value for our customers where everyone can participate.  It’s a lot of fun and the food is great.  We’ve tried selling tickets at six or seven dollars per person and having it catered.  That’s still a good value but it’s a lot of money for a family of four.  This way, everyone can participate.

Last weekend, I heard several folks didn't attend because they didn't have a dish or it was too hot to cook. Hogwash!!  If you don't have a dish, you are still welcome. If it's easier to make a contribution toward the cost of the meat, that would be appreciated. See us at the Office.

My parents instilled in me that mealtime, when the family gets together, is the most important part of the day. By the looks of me, I haven't missed one yet! When you camp here, you are family.  Please join us.

7:30 to 10:30 p.m.  Dance to RetroSpecticus - Please show then a warm Naples Campground welcome.  We heard them at Federal Jack's in KennebunkPort last winter. They sounded really good - we had had a few drinks. Let us know what you think.

Birthdays:  Carolyn Roberge,  Site 2  Happy Birthday   August 6th

Anniversary: Beverly & Waine Bartlett   Site 45  47 years!!    August 7th   Congratulations!!!

This weekend, we have allot of kids! Our goal is to offer you an opportunity to have a great time and make new friends. Parents, we need your help:

First, please drive SLOW.  It's a safety thing. We don't want anyone to get hurt.

We have a few important rules that we need your help to enforce.

No diving in the pool.   Jumping feet first is OK - not next to other swimmers.    No bikes after dark.    No eating in the Game Room and on the Pool table.    Do NOT touch TVs in Rec Hall. We'll change channels and set you up.    No trash on the ground, please dispose of properly. We take great pride in having the cleanest facility for your enjoyment.   We Recycle - Please use the correct cans. All cardboard, white plastics and regular household trash is accepted in the Recycle Shed just past the dumpster as you drove in.  Thanks for your help

We are booking dates for groups to use our Rec Hall.  Please see Pam or Con.

We really appreciate you sharing your vacation time with us. If there is anything we an do to make it more enjoyable, please ask.

Your Hosts,

Pam & Con
