Greetings,

Welcome to another edition of our "Newsletter".  It’s been two weeks since our last communication.  My apologies to our devoted subscribers.  This time of year, we get buried in paperwork for seasonal rental agreements, changing sites and scheduling work to be done on the site as well as winterizing.  It’s been CRAZY!  I mean that in a good way.  As you probably see in our past Newsletters, we work extremely hard to offer “over the top” customer service and a fun time for all.  We are building a reputation.  The great news is we have 13 new seasonal campers!  Welcome to all of you.  We pledge, not only to our new campers but to our existing campers as well, to work hard at continuing to improve our facilities and offer more opportunities for fun and enjoyment.  We are thrilled and humbled to have such a great group of campers – no, a great group of friends.  Thank you!

1174637724_Campground-0251.jpgThis week is devoted to the kids.  It’s our Halloween Weekend.  Please decorate your sites to add to the fun for the kids and adults alike.  Our goal is for the kids to spend quality time with their parents while carving a pumpkin.  Then, they can fill up on candy while trick-or-treating and we’ll have a party right after.  When the sugar kicks in, we’ll send the kids home for the parents to deal with!  LOL (just kidding) Last weekend, we picked up 30 pumpkins from Gillespie Farms.  We sold out by Sunday morning!  Don’t think you missed out.  We have 30 more pumpkins coming in on Thursday.  As in the past, we have the best deal on pumpkins.  They must have made a mistake on our pumpkin order last week.  They were huge!  And, best of all, only $5 each.  Another value added service we provide for you.  They will be available Friday and Saturday until we run out.  Many folks are buying them from us and taking them home to decorate their home.

For the adults, we will have our second Wine and Cheese Social.  Bring a bottle of your favorite wine and a side dish that will complement your wine.  This may require a little research.  At our last wine social, we had close to 40 different bottles.  It was pretty interesting the different takes on even the most popular wines.  I believe the food got the best reviews.  Please, no bottles over $20.  It’s not necessarily the cost of the wine that makes it good.

Itinerary:

Saturday,

10 a.m. Arts and Crafts At the Rec Hall with Pam

1 p.m. Pumpkin Carving Contest - bring your pumpkin to the Rec Hall at 1 pm to create your "Masterpiece". Parents or Grandparents are encouraged to assist your children.  Please use care in carving as knives are sharp. Bring your own carving utensils. Sign your pumpkin on the bottom so you can take it home when we are done.  You may leave it on display for the day so all the campground can see them.

3 p.m. Hayride – possibly our last for the season

5 p.m. Trick or Treat  -  Please don't start before 5 o'clock. Kids can go around Trick or Treating at all the sites. We will have folks in the roads to monitor traffic. If you have to drive keep it under 5!

6 p.m. Halloween Costume Party – for kids and adults alike - We will serve pizza, Calzones and other finger foods.  Anyone that would like to bring a dish would be appreciated.  This can be a veggie platter, fruit platter or snacks and drinks.  1174162206_P1000180.jpg1174162207_P1000183.jpg      1174162206_P1000156.jpg

8 p.m. Wine and Cheese Social – Join us to sample different wines and best of all, the food.  Please bring a bottle of your favorite wine and a side dish that will complement your selection.  Recipes of your favorite dishes are appreciated.

Speaking of recipes, maybe we should have a cook off for “anything pumpkin”.  If anyone has a favorite pumpkin recipe, please bring it in.  For this weekend, Bob has promised pumpkin whoopie pies with a cream cheese filling.  Only Bob can brew up that kind of magic.  You’ve got to try some.

Next weekend:

Next weekend is our End of Season Social.

As we did last year, I would like to hold another "seasonal camper general meeting" to go over anything about the campground that either makes you happy or something that should be added or improved.  I believe a lot came out of last year’s meeting.  Many of your ideas and suggestions were incorporated in this year’s decision-making.  As mentioned before, it’s not about us.  Our mission is to develop a facility and offer services for your enjoyment to keep you coming back.  We want to think out-of-the-box and not be like every other campground.  Simply put, we want to be the best.  During this week, please jot down ideas and bring them to the meeting.  After the meeting, we will break out the food and enjoy a social time together to reminisce special events of this season.  Please plan to attend.  If you can’t be there, jot down a few notes and drop them off at the office so your voice can be heard.

Columbus day weekend is looking to be another full house weekend.  We only have 5 sites left to rent.  This is the last hurrah.  What a time to camp!  The foliage with its spectacular color, the cool nights around the campfire, the transition from summer to fall preparing for the winter season.  Families shift gears from summer vacation to fall sports with kids back to school, or preparing for the trip south for some of our snowbirds.  For many, it’s back to work.  I offer you this: STOP, smell the roses, see the wonders around you and spend quality time with family and friends.  Life happens, and then it’s gone.

Enjoy your day.

Your Hosts,

Pam & Con Crepeau
