Greetings,

.

Welcome to our "Camper Appreciation Weekend".  Our mission is to provide “over the top” customer service every day you are here.  This weekend is different.  My Mom and Dad instilled in me core family values.  There is nothing more important than family.  I grew up with family get-togethers just about every weekend.  At least it seemed that way.  We didn’t need a holiday for a time to celebrate.  When I met Pam and her family, their values were quite similar.  Every weekend and sometimes even during the week the kids would drop in to visit and, first thing you know, there’s a party going on.  It must be something about big families.  Feed them, they will come.

.

It’s no different with the campground.  Our campers are family.  As you probably have noticed, potlucks and socials are very big on our agenda.  Each day is another opportunity for folks to get together and make new friendships.

.

This weekend is our Camper Appreciation Weekend.  We are thankful for the love and support we’ve received from each and every one of you.

.

Our itinerary is quite simple:

.

Saturday at 2 p.m. we will have our 2nd annual Seasonal Camper Meeting.  As it was last year, this is an opportunity for you to voice your opinions and join in discussions of ideas to make this campground the best place to be.  We are creating a “wish list” of amenities that you would like to see in our new expansion.  As we’ve said before, it’s not about us.  It’s about creating a camping experience that you will always remember and you will always want to return.

.

Saturday at 4 p.m. is our Social Hour – a chance to mingle with other campers – snacks and drinks welcome.

.

At 5 p.m. we will have our Appreciation Buffet.  The menu consists of sliced turkey and all the fixings, like Thanksgiving in September.  All campers are welcome.

.

.

Anyone that would like to bring a desert would greatly be appreciated.

.

.

After dinner, maybe we can get Donny Soule to break out his guitar and play for us.  That would be a real treat!

.

.

Thank you all for a great season, this being our third.  We are so not looking forward to closing date.  We just don’t want it to end.  We are so thankful that most of you will be returning next season as well as 13 new seasonal campers.  That brings our total to 86 seasonal campers! Our goal was to max out at 80.  We are now gearing up to getting folks on-board for our new expansion.  Our goal is to be booking sites in the new section by this time next season.  It’s ambitious but I believe we have a great track record with the local and state agencies.

.

.

This is a magical time of year.  Even though camping is coming to an end, there are many opportunities to enjoy the outdoors.  First of all, the foliage.  Take time to appreciate nature’s display of colors that create a surreal environment for your enjoyment.  Peak colors normally happen from October 1st to the 15th.

.

We are so fortunate to have opportunities like a biking, hiking, apple picking or just going for a long walk.  Not only will you enjoy the scenery, it will be healthy for you as well.  Don’t miss out.  Take a breather and enjoy life.  After your walk, stop by an ice cream shop to top off your day.  It doesn’t get much better than this.

.

Maine has a lot to offer.  We have 24 agricultural fairs throughout the state.  This weekend is the Cumberland Fair until September 29.  Next week is the Fryeburg Fair from Sunday September 30 to October 7.  Fryeburg Fair has always been my favorite.

.

The antique equipment always fascinates me.  Our fore fathers worked hard with not much to work with.  That old Yankee ingenuity kicked in and they made tools to make their life easier.  As you walk through, you really get the feeling of how fortunate we really are.  Life was simpler then.  Given the opportunity, I wouldn’t go back to those times,      unless I could bring my computer with me! LOL   All kidding aside, take in a fair and enjoy your day.

.

Another fun thing to do is visit a museum.  All within an hour or so, we have the Museum of Arts at Bates College in Lewiston, the Shaker Village Museum in New Gloucester and, if genealogy is of interest to you, we have the Androscoggin Historical Society in Auburn.

.

A few other ideas for discovering Maine: antiquing, apple and berry picking, shopping, canoeing, discover a new restaurant or maybe stay at a bed and breakfast.  Then there’s the Sunday River Ski Resort in Bethel for hiking and golf or the nearby Grafton Notch State Park.

.

These are all great ways of spending quality family time and enjoying the great state of Maine.

.

.

Enjoy!

.

.

Pam & Con Crepeau
