Good Morning Folks!

Another nice weekend. Compared to last June, we've had a relatively nice month in spite of the forecast. It seems at each week the meteorologist predict chance of rain or thundershowers.  Each weekend we’ve had a few clouds but mostly sunny.  Last year at this time we were lamenting about all the rain.  Boy did it rain! A little warmer would be nice. That’s camping! These cool nights make for a great campfire.  We have firewood at the camp store.  No one beats our price on firewood.  And we deliver right to your site.  In order to save cost, we have eliminated the bundling of our wood.  We pass the cost savings on to you.

Rec Hall...

The rest of the lights are in.  Our electrician is due in this week to complete the electrical.  We should have the fitness room set up and ready for you to use by next weekend.  We’ve had a lot of folks in there already using the equipment.  Please make sure your kids are supervised when using the equipment.  Without proper instruction or supervision, accidents can happen.  We certainly don’t want that.  Your help with this is appreciated.  Thanks

Bob's Kitchen...

As many of you already know, Bob makes the best bread and pizza.  He makes all the sub rolls and hamburger rolls.  Everything is made from scratch.  Not bad for a campground!  Thanks to Ruth Daigle for printing up menus.  We have menus at the store for you to post in your camper.  This way you can call ahead for your order and not have to wait.  If you want homemade bread, please call early in the morning so he can add it to his batch of dough.  As you know, making bread is a process.  After it’s mixed, it has to proof and rise.  This is a three-hour process.  He’ll even make blueberry bread.  That’s been a big hit with a lot of campers.  For breakfast, lunch or dinner, the food and prices can’t be beat.

Jacket order...

Have you seen our new jackets?  Our initial order is in.  You may have seen folks wearing them.  The weather has been perfect for that!  We are really happy with the quality.  And, the best news, the volume of our first order put us in a discount bracket saving everyone $2-$3 off our initial price quote.  Again, we pass the savings on to you.  Thank you for your support.  If you would like a jacket, please see Pam.  She is placing our second order on Monday.

Float for the Parade...

We will have a float in the 4th of July parade.  The theme is “the Spirit of the Lakes Region”.  Kim Desjardins is making the signs for the side.  Jeannine Lovejoy is preparing all the T-shirts.  We plan on having everyone in the parade wearing matching T-shirts.  Some folks will be riding on the trailer and others will be walking alongside handing out candy.  We are looking for ideas on how to decorate the trailer.  We are using our hayride trailer.  Anyone interested in brainstorming, please meet at the store at 2:30 after the hayride.  I will build anything we need on the trailer during the week.  Next weekend we can decorate for the parade.  It’ll be fun!  Thanks; see you at 2:30.

Toilet Tissue...

Scott Paper is running a promotion on environmentally friendly and septic system friendly toilet tissue for your camper or RV.  We are handing out FREE rolls of Scott toilet tissue at the office.  Another value added service for our customers.

Newspapers…

We have newspapers at the Office every day.  We’ve been delivering papers to your site each Saturday and Sunday.  I know many of you look forward to your morning paper.  Although, we have had some folks ask us not to drop a paper at their site.  The paper program is an expensive proposition for us.  It’s a service we want to continue to provide. In order to cut some cost, or really, stop the waste, we will be providing papers during the week at the Office as we normally do, but on weekends, we will set up locations at the Store, Bath Houses and the Rec Hall for pickup points if you would like your paper.  We will start this next week.  Thanks for your support.

Activities for this week…

10:00 am - Arts and Crafts at the Rec Hall for kids of all ages.

2:00 pm – Hayride - meet at the Store – for kids and adults too!

2:30 pm - Kid's Movie in the Store - We'll do the pop corn.

2:30 pm –Adults, please meet at the store to discuss ideas on decorating the hayride trailer for the Fourth of July Parade.  The theme this year is “the Spirit of the Lakes Region”.  Your help is truly appreciated.

3:30 pm – Bingo in the Rec Hall – come out of the wind and the cold for a fun game of bingo.

5:00 pm – Pot Luck – Italian Theme  Bring a dish of your favorite Italian recipe.  Every potluck, folks ask how much to bring.  Our rule of thumb – anything you bring should have enough volume to feed the number of people you are bringing.  You do not have to bring food to feed the entire group, just cover the number of people you are bringing.  We have folks bringing stuffed shells, meatballs, cannoli, salads, sausage and peppers and meatballs, M&M cookies, etc.  Sounds delicious already!

Ideas: pasta, salads, desserts, finger foods, sandwiches, drinks.  Set up in the Rec Hall at 4:45 for supper at 5.

Normally, we have a great turnout for our potlucks.  It’s a great opportunity to meet other campers and taste many different recipes.  It’s just delicious!  See you there.

Next week, - 4th of July Festivities…
